tara skirt - kala cotton ajarakh (bloom)
Kala Cotton Ajarakh
There is something about a well-made skirt.
The way it falls. The way it moves when you walk. The way it makes an ordinary day feel a little more considered.
The Tara is a midi skirt handwoven in Kala cotton and wool by our weaving community in Kutch. Kala cotton grows in the dry landscapes of the region — resilient, indigenous, requiring very little water. The wool brings in gentle warmth and a softness that you feel immediately.
What makes this fabric something to hold onto are the motifs woven directly into it — not printed, not added later. Created on the loom, thread by thread, as the fabric is being made.
Worn through mild days or layered through colder ones, this is a skirt built to stay with you across seasons.
