Ira Pants Kala Cotton Ajarakh Beej Blocks
Some pieces move easily between structure and ease.
The Ira Pants are designed with a relaxed, wide-leg silhouette — sitting comfortably at the waist and falling with quiet movement through the leg.
At the heart of Ira is the textile.
The fabric is first handwoven in Kala cotton by our weaving community in Kutch. Kala cotton is an indigenous cotton grown in the dry landscapes of western India, naturally resilient and deeply connected to the region’s textile traditions.
Once woven, the fabric moves into the hands of Ajrakh artisans.
Ajrakh is a craft that has lived in Kutch for over 400 years, carried forward through generations of artisan families. The process is slow and layered — often moving through up to 16 stages of printing, dyeing, washing, and drying before the fabric is ready.
Natural dyes like indigo, madder, and iron black are built gradually, with every stage adding depth to the cloth.
The Beej print, designed by Fifth Origins, appears gently across the surface — inspired by the idea of a seed. Small forms repeated quietly across the fabric, scattered like moments of growth and possibility.
Across the print, placement colour blocks interrupt the repetition — creating contrast, rhythm, and pause within the textile.
The result is a piece that feels expressive, grounded, and easy to wear.
The Ira Pants are part of our Bloom collection, where materials, craft traditions, and design come together slowly — much like the natural world that inspires them.
